land acknowledgment

In the spirit of reconciliation and love, we recognize, acknowledge, and appreciate:

The relationships and responsibilities we have to our Treaty 7 friends - the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Stoney-Nakoda, Tsuut’ina; and the Metis of Region 3.

Treaties are meant to be built on respectful, cooperative, and nation-to-nation relationships; to share land and resources, for present and future generations.

The right to clean water.

The beauty of Treaty 7 lands. Its life-sustaining wetlands, rivers, and lakes. Its rolling hills, plains, and rocky mountains. Its creatures roaming wild and those entrusted in our care as pets. Its endless prairie skies, Chinook arches and northern lights.

Throughout our lives, work, and play, we strive to honour and preserve the beauty of the people and land of Treaty 7 and Region 3, while being mindful of the past, the work required in the present, and maintaining a positive outlook for the future.
