Hello Everyone!
Not only can you follow birdy photography co. on Instagram and Facebook, but you can now follow us on LinkedIn!
I have been inactive on LinkedIn in the past, but I was recently inspired to make an account for birdy photography co. because of two clever individuals. The first individual is my husband, Jon Ng, who suggests birdy photography co. might stand out because LinkedIn appears to be a less commonly used professional networking tool in the photography industry. The second individual is Piper Riley Thompson, the owner of Ontario Bar Exam Coach, co-creator and co-host of legal podcast "Off the tracks", and to top it all of she is a TikTok sensation!
I actually connected with Piper Riley Thompson through LinkedIn itself! My husband met Piper at a University of Calgary Faculty of Law networking event and told me all about her. I knew right away that I needed to meet this legal sensation so I did what any modern fan-girl over 35 years old would do - I sent her a message through LinkedIn. Piper shared her inspiring journey from lawyer to entrepreneur, and explained how she uses LinkedIn to grow her business. So now I am going to do the same!
According to LinkedIn, LinkedIn can be used to:
find the right job or internship, connect and strengthen professional relationships, and learn the skills you need to succeed in your career;
connect with opportunities by showcasing your unique professional story through experience, skills, and education; and
organize offline events, join groups, write articles, post photos and videos, and more.
Are you wondering if you should join LinkedIn? LinkedIn informs us that it:
"...should be joined by anyone looking to advance their career. This can include people from various professional backgrounds, such as small business owners, students, and job seekers. LinkedIn members can use LinkedIn to tap into a network of professionals, companies, and groups within and beyond their industry."
If you want to learn more about what LinkedIn is, who should be joining it, and how to get started with LinkedIn, I recommend visiting the following LinkedIn link:
